What to Expect
YOU ARE WELCOME HERE
Church can be an intimidating place to visit, especially if you don’t know what to expect. We invite you to experience what the gospel means at one of our Sunday worship services. We hope that through visiting with us, you will experience the hope, love, and joy that comes from a community of imperfect people who love Jesus and who are committed to worshipping God and sharing His good news with others.
Please feel free to contact us via email, by calling the church office (509-935-8385) or worshiping with us during any of our services.
Here are some commonly asked questions about our church.
What makes Chewelah Baptist Church unique from other churches in town?
Chewelah Baptist is an unaffiliated, missions-minded, family-oriented, traditional Baptist church.
For more details about what we believe, you can view our doctrinal statement.
When do services start and where do I park?
We have three services on Sunday. A Bible Study at 9:45 am, a Morning Worship Service at 11:00 am, and an Evening Worship Service at 6:00 pm. On Wednesdays, we have set aside a time for prayer and Bible study at 7:00 pm.
You can find additional parking, along with our handicap entrance, on the north side of the church, up 3rd Street North. It enters into our fellowship hall where we have a coffee time from 10:30 – 11:00 am. Services are held on the Main Ave. side of the church.
If you cannot make it in time for our morning Bible Study, come for coffee and enjoy some time of fellowship as you prepare your heart for morning worship.
What should I expect when I come on Sunday?
Services usually last 60 minutes and include singing, prayer, an offering in the morning, and a Biblically-based message from God’s Word. It is our desire that through the teach and preaching of God’s Word that you can grow in your understanding of God.
We encourage children to be a part of our services. However, we do have a nursery available for your children through age 2 during the services. We also offer children's classes during the 9:45 am Bible Study.
Do I have to give money when the offering is taken?
Not at all! The offering is a time for God’s people to freely give back a portion of all that God has given them. It is an act of worship, an opportunity to show their love for God and to support His work here and around the world. At times, special offerings are taken to help support guest speakers and missionaries. In a day and age when many no longer carry cash or checks, there is an option to give online.
What should I wear?
Chewelah Baptist doesn’t have a “dress code.” Some folks come to church in suits and dresses while others attend in more casual attire. We would rather have you attend church and grow in your knowledge of God than not come at all.
