YOU ARE WELCOME HERE
Church can be an intimidating place to visit, especially if you don’t know what to expect. We invite you to experience what the gospel means at one of our Sunday worship services. We hope that through visiting with us, you will experience the love and joy that comes from a community of imperfect people who love Jesus and who are committed to worshipping God and sharing His good news with others.
Please feel free to contact us via email, by calling the church office (509-935-8385), or worshiping with us during any of our services.
Here are some commonly asked questions about our church.
What makes Chewelah Baptist Church unique from other churches in town?
Chewelah Baptist is a grace-led Baptist church that has a heart for missions and a desire to practically teach God's Word.
For more details about what we believe, please view our doctrinal statement.
When do services start and where do I park?
Ever since COVID, we have had to change the timing of our services. Currently, we have Prayer Service at 10:30 am on Sunday, followed by our Sunday Worship Service at 11:00 am. All our other services have been placed on hold for now. For more information, take a look at our church calendar.
You can find additional parking, along with our handicap entrance, on the north side of the church, near the train tracks. This entrance goes into our fellowship hall. Services are held on the Main Ave. side of the church.
What should I expect when I come on Sunday?
Services usually last 60 minutes and include hymn singing, a time of prayer, and a message from God’s Word. It is our desire that through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word that you can grow in your understanding of God and come to understand His great love for you.
We encourage children to be a part of our services. However, we do have a nursery available for your children through age 4 during the services. We also offer children's classes during the 9:45 am Bible Study.
Do I have to give money when the "offering" is taken?
Not at all! At Chewelah Baptist we practice grace giving, not tithes and offerings. We provide God’s people the opportunity to freely give back a portion of all that God has given them. It is an act of worship, an opportunity to show our love to God and to support His work here and around the world. On occasion, special times of giving are taken to help support guest speakers and missionaries. In a day and age when many no longer carry cash or checks, there is an option to give online.
What should I wear?
Chewelah Baptist doesn’t have a “dress code.” Some wear suits and dresses while others attend in more casual attire. We are more focused on a heart relationship with Jesus than on what a person wears.
