What to Expect

You are Welcome Here

Church can be an intimidating place to visit, especially if you don’t know what to expect. We invite you to learn of God's message of hope at our Sunday worship service. We trust that through visiting with us you will experience the love and joy that comes from a community of imperfect people who love Jesus and who are committed to worshipping God and sharing His good news with others.

Please feel free to contact us via email, by calling the church office (509-935-8385), or worshiping with us during any of our services.

Here are some commonly asked questions about our church.

What makes Chewelah Baptist Church unique from other churches in town?

Chewelah Baptist is a grace-led church that has a heart for missions and a desire to practically teach God's Word.

For more details about what we believe, please view our doctrinal statement.

When do services start and where do I park?

We have two services on Sunday. Prayer Time and Bible School starts at 9:15 am and our Worship Service is at 10:30 am. On Wednesdays, we have a more informal Bible Study and Prayer Meeting at 7:00 pm. For more information, take a look at our church calendar.

You can find additional parking, along with our handicap entrance, on the north side of the church by the train tracks. This entrance goes into our fellowship hall (join us for coffee time on Sundays from 10:00 - 10:30 am). Our services are held on the Main Ave. side of the church.

What should I expect when I come on Sunday?

Services usually last 60 minutes and include hymn singing, a time of prayer, and a message from God’s Word. It is our desire that through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word that you can grow in your understanding of God and come to understand His great love for you.

Do I have to give money?

Not at all! We practice grace giving, not tithes and offerings. We provide God’s people the opportunity to freely give back a portion of all that God has given them. Giving to the Lord is an act of worship, an opportunity to show our love to God by supporting His work here and around the world. On occasion we provide additional opportunities to give to help support guest speakers and missionaries who are visiting. In a day and age when many no longer carry cash or checks, there is an option to give online or just drop your gift in the offering basket at the front of the church.

What should I wear?

Chewelah Baptist doesn’t have a “dress code.” Some "dress up" and others attend in more casual attire. We are more focused on a heart relationship with Jesus than on what a person wears.
