Chamber of Commerce
Known as “Your Place for All Seasons” and the “Southern Gateway to the Colville National Forest”, Chewelah has the small-town charm that people fall in love with. Just 45 minutes north of Spokane and 70 miles south of the Canadian border on Hwy 395, Chewelah is an easy get away with a lot to offer.
The City of Chewelah had its first City Council meeting on February 7, 1903. Mayor W.W. Dickson presided over the meeting. There were five Council members. Now, 115+ years later, the City Council consists of seven members. Regular meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month, at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers at 301 E. Clay.
It is our shared mission in our schools to make Chewelah the place “Where Dreams Begin.” We strive to make our schools a place where our students learn to dream big dreams and are provided with the skills and knowledge to make dreams fulfilled.
